Eurostat microdata

The microdata collected by Eurostat can be applied for scientific use in Aalto. Eurostat has granted the research entity status to Aalto, and thus individual researchers at Aalto can apply for access to the data for conducting their research projects.

Instructions on how to apply, the rules and conditions as well as application forms are available on Eurostat’s web pages. The identification number and Aalto’s contact person required in the application are the following:

  • Research entity identification number: 2014/100/FI
  • Name of the contact person in the research entity: Ilkka Niemelä

President Ilkka Niemelä’s signature is needed in the application after successful evaluation by Eurostat has been received by email. Please then contact your school’s research liaison officer (Contact information of Research and Innovation Services) for asking the approval and signature.

The safekeeping requirements of the data are strict. The data should only be used from a computer maintained by Aalto IT Services. Please contact Aalto IT Services (servicedesk@aalto.fi) when preparing your application.
